City Spies

What happened to Sara Martinez after she hacked into the New York City foster care system at age twelve? This suspenseful story is found in City Spies by James Ponti. 

To avoid her sentence, Sara decided to go with a mysterious man she didn't know and become an agent for a secret intelligence service.  She became part of a family no one else could ever dream of. Her new family took her on her first mission as an MI6 agent. As the story unfolded, I saw how an MI6 spy really trains. You will have to read the book to find out if Sara overcame her fears to stop a criminal.

First of all, I thought this book was slow to start, but it became one of my favorite books. It really interested me, and it had lots of action. One thing I really liked is that, at the end of each chapter, there was enough suspense to make me want to read the next chapter. These cliff hangers involved traveling from New York to Scotland, meeting her new spy family, being accused of stealing valuables, and so much more. Most importantly, the story seemed real. The characters’ descriptions made me feel like I was watching a movie of the scenes.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries and suspense. City Spies will keep you glued to your couch.
